Sara Mihalcho Obituary
Sarah "Sara" Mae Martie Mihalcho, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, was called home to the Lord on September 28, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on November 19, 1930, in Paden City, West Virginia, Sara's life was a testament to the love and grace of God. She departed this earthly life in Newton Falls, Ohio, surrounded by the love of her family.
Sara was a devoted Catholic who lived her faith through acts of kindness and unwavering belief. Her gentle spirit and warm smile was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Her life was built on the foundation of Christ's love, and she shared that love generously with others.
Family was the cornerstone of Sara's world. She was the loving mother of Michele Rickert and Michael Mihalcho and grandmother to John White. Her life was enriched by the deep bonds she shared with her children, and she instilled in them the values of faith, compassion, and diligence.
Sara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael, who was her partner in life and faith. She was also greeted in Heaven by her parents, her cherished son-in-law, Donald Rickert, her adored great-grandson, Trevor White, and her dear siblings, Harry and Dale Martie, and sister, Carrie Moore.
Sara's interests brought joy to her and those around her. She was an avid solver of crossword and jigsaw puzzles, finding peace and fulfillment in the challenge they provided. Her love for growing and planting flowers was evident in the vibrant garden that she tended with care, a reflection of the beauty and growth she nurtured in her own life and in the lives of those she loved. In her younger years, Sara enjoyed the camaraderie and friendly competition of bowling and playing cards, activities that kept her connected with friends and community.
As we bid farewell to Sara Mae Martie Mihalcho, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and grace. She was a true servant of God, a loving mother, and a friend to all. Her legacy of love and faith remains a guiding light to her family and all who were blessed to know her. Though she will be dearly missed, we take comfort in the knowledge that she has found eternal peace and rest in the arms of her Savior.
We commend Sara to God's loving embrace and hold fast to the promise of a joyful reunion in Heaven.
