Shirley Peterson Obituary

Shirley M. Peterson of Newton Falls, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2025. Shirley was born January 18, 1935, to the late Annabelle Allen McFate and Raymond Howard McFate in Pleasantville, Pennsylvania. She met the love of her life Charles A. Peterson, and they married on October 21, 1950, in Titusville, Pennsylvania. Shirley retired from G.E. Trumbull Lamp, she was a hairdresser for many years and a nurses-aid at Hillside Hospital. She went on to the ministry as a lay minister at Assembly of God Parkman Rd. delivering the word to the sick and shut-ins. She enjoyed traveling with her husband as members of the Airstream Club and as members of M.A.P.S. building churches across the country. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, and bowling. Memories of Shirley will be cherished by her loving her loving husband Charles of 74 years; daughter Liane (Joseph) Pinto of Warren; grandson Michael (Mackenzie) Pinto of Bristolville; great-granddaughters, Isabella and Madeline Pinto and special niece Diane (Terry) Was of Edgewater, Florida. Shirley was preceded in death by her son Daniel (Kimberly) Peterson; granddaughter Kristy Pinto-Marko; sister, Beatrice (Edward) Peterson; brother, Charles McFate, and half-brother, Robert Carlson. Shirley was laid to rest at Champion Township Cemetery. Please join the family for a celebration of Shirley's life on September 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM at General Assembly of God, 2021 E. River Road, Newton Falls, Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
