Virginia Matijasic Obituary

Struthers – It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Virginia Matijasic, who departed this life on August 1, 2025 at the age of 88 in Struthers, Ohio. Virginia was born on December 24, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio to Michael and Nancy Gargano. She was a beloved mom, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She will be remembered for her vibrant young spirit. Virginia is survived by her children Victoria (Joseph) Durkin, Joseph Matijasic and Debra (Patrick) Matijasic-Ortiz, also 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Throughout her life, Virginia was a homemaker, and later helped care for residents at local retirement facilities. A lifelong Catholic, she was a dedicated member of Christ Our Savior Parish/St. Nicholas Church in Struthers for many years. A small prayer service will take place at the chapel on the grounds of St. John's Cemetery 3900 Villa Marie Rd. Lowellivlle, Ohio 44436 on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.
