William Turocy Obituary

GIRARD - William J. Turocy, Jr., 78, died Sunday, April 27, 2025, at his home. William was born April 7, 1947, in Youngstown, a son of the late William J. Turocy Sr. and Mary Dorothy Fajos Turocy. He was a lifelong Ohio resident and made his home in Girard for more than 35 years. A 1965 graduate of Struthers High School, William went on to earn a bachelor's degree in education from Youngstown State University, where he later earned his master's degree. He dedicated over 35 years to teaching at Southeast High School in Ravenna before retiring. William proudly served in the United States Army. He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in McDonald and was an avid supporter of YSU football and basketball. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures and the company of friends and family. He is survived by his brother, John Turocy (Julie) of Struthers; as well as several extended family members and many dear friends. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2025, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Private interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, at a later date.
