Carl Anthony Wieland was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 18, 1925. Carl passed away at his home in Medford, Oregon on October 8, 2021 at the age of 96.
He is survived by his wife, Amparo Wieland, five children (Denise Brooks, Carl Wieland, Jr., Michelle Ledbetter, John Wieland, and Michael Wieland), 18 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Carl loved woodworking, carpentry, camping, hiking, fishing, and traveling adventures. He included his family in these interests at every opportunity. His cheerful, playful personality was impossible to miss, and had a lasting effect on everyone Carl encountered.
Carl was active in his beloved Catholic Church community throughout his entire life. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and regular volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul. Carl's remains will be interred at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, California.
Funeral services will be held on October 23rd, 11:00 a.m., at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church in Central Point, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to St. Vincent de Paul - Rogue Valley Council.
