James Pearce Obituary

James Allen Pearce
James, age 70, of Jackson, Ga., passed away Nov. 27, 2008, at his residence. He was born in Ottawa County, Okla., to the late Leonard Francis and Elsie Betterton Pearce. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Allen Pearce and his Mom, Thelma Pearce. He was retired from Georgia Pacific and was of the Baptist faith. He was a lifetime member of the Lebanon-Brownsville Masonic Lodge #44, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed Western movies and traveling. Jim was a wonderful husband, father, and Papa to his granddaughters and great grandsons. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ward Pearce; son, James Francis (Cecilia) Pearce, of St. Stephen, S.C.; granddaughters, Katie and Jordan Pearce, and Ashley (David) Poston; great-grandsons, Bryce and Pearce Poston; sisters, Beverly Kelly, of Medford, Ore., Barbara (Joyce Newman) Pearce, of Vancouver, Wash.; beloved stepchildren, Margaret Love-Cawthon (Wally), Noel (Kelly) Love, Kait Love, Merritt (Kevin) Ramsaur and Aynsley Ramsaur; nieces and nephews, Pam, Terry, Molly, and Tyler; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and wonderful friends. Funeral services were held at the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Lane Jenkins officiated. Interment was at McDonough City Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Praying for Paws, 289 Jonesboro Road, Suite 266, McDonough, GA., 30253, or Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in memory of Jim.
