Parley Hamblin Obituary

Parley C. Hamblin
Leaving many people who will miss his wonderful, happy spirit, Parley Cardon Hamblin, died on Oct. 2, 2008, at Rogue Valley Medical Center. He was born on the 27th of July 1932 in Eagar, Arizona, which is a small mountain town, at 7100 foot elevation. He will return to Eagar, where he will be buried beside his parents, Roscoe and Dora Hamblin, and a baby daughter who preceeded him in death.
His adult life was spent in Mt. Shasta and Yreka, Calif., where he owned glass shops. He moved to Medford in 2006.
He always had a strong testimony on the Savior, and tried to live his life following Jesus' example. He belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many positions in the church, including being a Bishop, Stake President, a Mission President, and Stake Patriarch and a faithful home teacher. He had an amazing capacity to love all he met and made everyone feel that love. He was the patriarch of his family of seven children; 24 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by his wife Katherine and his wonderful children and their families.
There will be a viewing at the Perl Funeral Home in Medford from 7 to 8:30 on Tuesday evening, the 7th of October. The following day will be the funeral at 10 am, at the LDS church on Juanipero Way.
Parley's wife and children would like to express their appreciation for the outpouring of love and wonderful support they have received from the many people who loved Parley.

Sister Hamblin and family,

I love you. Thanks for being a great example and co-mission president. My life has been enhanced greatly because of Pres. Hamblin and the great confidence he had in each one of us. My prayer go out to you and your family.

Sister Hamblin, our family sends our love and appreciation to you and to President Hamblin. It was an honor to serve with both of you for two years as representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ. I will never forget one message president shared with me during one Zone Conference. He said in life we need to always look forward like looking through the front windshiled of your car. It is ok to look in the rear view mirror from time to time but if you look back to many times at our mistakes you cannot focus on what it ahead of you. This one lesson taught by your husband has been profound in my life. Please know how much we love you and President Hamblin. I shall never forget hearing his last testomony in Zone Conference in July 1996. I can still hear his soft voice bear testimony of the divinigty of the Lord Jesus Christ. What a tremendous servent of the almighty. I pray that you will feel peace at this time and know that both of you are near and dear to mty heart. Love you. Tyler Wright

Sister Hamblin & Family-
I just want to tell you what an impression Pres. Hamblin had on me while I was in the mission field. Pres made me feel like I was valued & I could be myself while being a successful missionary. I worked harder simply because I didn't want to let him down. He made a hard mission easier & I'm a much better person because of him. I'm grateful to have served with him. My condolences got out to you, Sis. Hamblin & your family

Dear Katherine and Family,
We will always cherish our time in Yreka when Parley was first Bishop and then Stake President. He was a man who loved others and put that love into action. We are grateful for knowing him and the Hamblins.

Dear Katharine

We love you and Parley. We will greatly miss Parley. We will always remember the great feeling of love that we always felt whenever we were together with you and Parley. May the Lord bless you, and may you always continue to be an example of righteousness to all that you meet as you have been for Edith Ann and I.
