I always enjoyed it whenever my mother, Martha White & I could be with Ruth, as we were her visiting teachers, & she was my Mom's companion when I was younger. She was always delightful, upbeat & lighthearted. Time spent with her was always joyful. Even through the difficult time of the divorce from Lynn. Your mother had a courage, devotion, & commitment to life that was truly remarkable. So generous & kind, right up there with the best ladies of Applegate, ever. Hi Laurie & Kris, Linda, I hope you remember me! I look forward to seeing you tomorrow, & my deepest sympathy for your loss. She will always be in my heart

Ruth Davis was one of the real treasures of my life. I can never remember a time when she didn't make me feel welcome in her home when I spent time with her daughter Laurie who was my bestest best friend in the world. I always thought Ruth was hilarious and wild and beautiful and glamorous and lovely and secretly wished she were MY mother. She took us to really scary movies (Psycho) and then waited in the driveway until I got into the house because she knew I was scared to death to get out of the car afterwards. She took us to hilarious comedies as well and we would laugh all the way home in the car talking about different scenes. She bought me Green Burritos at Taco Bell which were my favorite thing ever at the time even though I felt terrible because I never had any of my own money as my family was very poor and she did it without embarrassing me. She even bought me clothes as I was usually dressed in rags and she did that without embarrassing me too. She was a great cook, I LOVED spending the night at her house because she made really good dinners. I have never forgotten the kindness Ruth extended towards me and always loved her for her incredible spirit and generosity and hospitality. She was truly a beautiful lady.
My very sincere condolences to all of you.
