Mrs. Veilleux was a homemaker for most of her life and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Association Canado-Americaine.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the nursing home at Gray Birch for the wonderful care and compassion they showed to Armandine during her time there.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard F. Veilleux; a son, Mario Veilleux; and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Veilleux is survived by four sons, Lawrence V. Veilleux and his wife, Lorna, of Gardiner, Michael S. Veilleux and his wife, Marie, of Winthrop, Normand G. Veilleux and his wife, Pat, of Augusta and Martin L. Veilleux and his wife, Drenna, of Oakland; four daughters, Priscilla D. Reid of Augusta, Jeannie N. Morin and her husband, Jean-Louis, of Augusta, Ghislaine T. Nadeau and her husband, Roger, of Belgrade, and Docile Fortin and her husband, Leo "Joe," of Sidney; a daughter-in-law, Linda Veilleux, of Belgrade; a brother, Jean Roch Blais, of Montreal, Quebec; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Avenue, Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Road, Augusta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Armandine's memory to MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center at Gray Birch Activity Program, 37 Gray Birch Drive, Augusta, ME 04330.
