Bruce Dunlap Obituary
1938 - 2017
SOMERVILLE - Bruce B. Dunlap, 79, died Nov. 16, 2017, at Togus VA Hospital, in Augusta, after an extended fight with ALS.
He was born on April 29, 1938, the son of Chester and Grace Dunlap, and raised in Stoneham, Mass. Bruce graduated from Stoneham High School, Class of 1955.
He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1956 and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1958.
Bruce was employed as a sales representative of the Acme Glass Company, and then owned his own business, the Hour Glass Co.
Bruce was a member of Dirigo Masonic Lodge #104 A.F. & A.M. and a life member of the Elks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sandy Dunlap; son Michael Dunlap and his wife Brenda; daughters: Tracey Butterworth, and her husband Brad; and Laurie Ingersoll, and her husband Kenny. Bruce and Sandy have seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Plummer Funeral Home, 983 Ridge Rd., Windsor, where a Masonic service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Condolences, photos and stories may be shared at: www.plummerfh.com.
In the spring of 2018, Bruce will be interred at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody, Mass., followed by a Celebration of Life at the Wakefield Elks. Details will be announced when finalized.

Sandi, Tracey, and family; I didn't know Bruce for all that long, but in the short time that I had the privilege, he was a tried and true friend. Proud of his Big Blue and a very Proud Marine. I will miss you dear friend. Rest in Peace. SEMPER FI!

Dear Dad, I will always love you and I miss you everyday. When I was a kid, and we would hear the song Cats in the Cradle, you always asked if that was us. No Dad could have been further from this song than you were. You were always there when I needed you. Even better, you were there for so many others and that is a legacy for all of us to live up to.
