1941-2013

AUGUSTA - Charles H. "Charlie" Davis Sr., age 72, died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at his home. He was born in Lisbon on July 20, 1941, a son of the late Alfred Davis and Pearl (Schultz) Davis Pease.

Mr. Davis was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church and was a member of the Bethlehem Masonic Lodge in Augusta.

He had been employed by the state of Maine, Sam's Club, McDonald's, O'Connor's and Caron's Collision Center.

Mr. Davis was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Cummings.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Arlene D. (Dumont) Davis, of Augusta; two sons: Charles H. Davis Jr. and his wife, Sherry Ann, of Augusta, and Jeffrey Davis, of Cocoa, Fla.; two brothers: Eric Saunders and his companion, Barbara, of Sabattus, and Paul Bulick and his wife, Lila, of Bowdoin; two sisters: Susan Littlefield and her husband, Babe, of Topsham, and Marlene Schneider, of Kokomo, Ind.; six grandchildren: Gunner, Ciara, Austin, Tyler, Jack and Luke Davis; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Road, Augusta in the spring.

Those who desire may make donations in Charlie's memory to either American Cancer Society, New England Division, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086-1240; or Calumet Educational Foundation Inc., P.O. Box 2085, Augusta, ME 04338-2085.
