Donna Crowther Obituary

SKOWHEGAN -- Donna Evelyn Crowther, 85, of Skowhegan, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at her residence.

Born March 13, 1924, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of Clarence W. and Susie (McKenny) Hinton.

Donna graduated from Dexter High School. She attended the Centenary United Methodist Church in Skowhegan.

She is survived by one son, Terry Roberson and his wife, Jackie, of Thomaston; five grandchildren; seven sisters, Muriel Bailey of California, Secha Mason and her husband, Glen, of Skowhegan, Julia Marcia of Pittsfield, Jana Hinton of Skowhegan, Beverly Schmid and her husband, Ernst, of Florida, Ester Chiddix of Tennessee, and Ellen MacMichael and her husband, James, of Skowhegan.

Donna was predeceased by her parents; one son, Lonnie Roberson; and two brothers, Clarence and James Hinton.

Donations may be made in Donna's memory to the American Heart Association, Maine Affiliate, Inc., 343 Gorham Road, South Portland, ME 04106 or the Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101-2406.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, with a memorial service following at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at the Riverside Cemetery in Newport.
