Ed and Edith were married May 29, 1948, in Morris Plains, N.J.; they were married for 64 years. She attended Morristown schools and graduated from Newark Hairdresser Schools. She was shop manager for a couple of years, before opening her own shop in New Jersey, then moved to Maine in 1970, and opened "Edith's Beauty Shop" in her home in Belgrade, which she ran for many years till her retirement. They enjoyed traveling the country with their RV and wintering in Florida. She enjoyed snowmobiling with the Stump Jumpers of Belgrade, rug hooking and ceramics. She so enjoyed having all the family at camp and family times on holidays, with all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Watnong Post 3401, Morris Plains, N.J., and Eastern Star of Messuclant 170 of New Sharon; was a member and past president of KVM Club in Belgrade.
The family would like to thank the staff of HealthReach Hospice and Mainly Elder Care for the wonderful care that they provided Edith.
At her request, there will be no viewing or services. A family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flower, donations may be made to Belgrade Fire and Rescue in Belgrade in Edith's memory.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville; 872-7676.
