He was born in Massachusetts on Feb. 9, 1956, son of Ed Nickerson and Caroline A. Heroux.
Frank work for the town of Fairfield for many years, and then the Kennebec Water District. He lived most of his childhood life in Belfast.
He was a dedicated father and friend. He loved the great outdoors, including fishing, hunting and camping. He also took pride in working in his garden. He was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
His greatest gift was making others laugh. He was a man with not so many words, but it was the little things he did for others that made them know just how muc1h he cared.
Frank was predeceased by his father, Ed Nickerson; brother Charles R. Kimball; and brother-In-law Carleton Mitchell.
He is survived by his mother, Caroline A. Heroux; fiancŽe Joni Dyer; his two sons, James S. Nickerson and Dean Pushard; and two daughters, Caroline E. Nickerson, and Heidi L. Nickerson and life partner Rayann Nickerson. Frank also leaves behind five grandchildren, Maddison Nickerson, Tristan Nickerson, Charity Eccleston, Dominic Eccleston and Tanisha Nickerson; two brothers, Ed Nickerson and Roy Nickerson; three sisters, Debbie Mitchell, Nickie Nickerson and Valerie Nickerson; his stepbrothers and stepsister, Wallace, Jeffrey and Nadine Kimball-Dyer; and several nieces and nephews.
Frank was also survived by a few of his lifelong friends, Doug McAvey, Bruce Dyer and Alec and Carolyn Reynolds.
The children would like to take this time to also thank Joni Dyer for standing beside their father in his time of need and to whomever else took the time to take care of him during his last days.
There will be no funeral services per Frank's request. The celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. March 10, 2012, in Lincolnville on U.S. Route 1, 3 Dyer Drive.

To all the family of Frank, I would like to give you my sincere condolences and prayers. I only knew Frank for a few years. And throughout those years he was very witty and not at lost for words. He will sadly be missed by myself and wife. I will be praying for the family at this time to help them get through this ordeal.
