Gregory Page Obituary
1937 - 2015
MANCHESTER - Gregory L. Page, 78 passed away, Monday Oct. 26, 2015 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after complications related to open heart surgery and diabetes. Greg was born Sept. 2, 1937 in Guilford, Maine to Frances E. (Straw) Page and Dana O. Page
He leaves his wife of nearly 50 years Charlotte (Bean MacMaster) Page; his children, daughter, Sandra (Page) Jackson and her husband Jeffery Jackson of Manchester, his son Kenneth G. MacMaster and companion Deborah MacMaster of Winthrop; his grandchildren, Samantha Jackson, Valerie Brennen, Jennifer (MacMaster) Cormier, Robert Macmaster and Stephen MacMaster; and many great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by son Robert F. MacMaster.
In his early years, Greg spent four years in the Navy and joined the Augusta Fire Department in 1959, retiring as a lieutenant. After serving with the Augusta Fire Department Greg worked as a fire inspector for Bath Iron Works retiring after 20 years.
Greg enjoyed visiting libraries to read about local history, watching old westerns as well as the Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots games, but his favorite past time was hunting for treasures with his medal detector.
In keeping with the wishes of Greg, there will be no funeral services. Arrangements under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.

We extend our sympathy to the family. Dan worked with Greg at BIW. There are many memories including the fire team--Jim Middleton, Dave Witas, Greg and Dan-- restoring an old hose cart and marching with it in the parade.

To the family,
Lt. Page was a wonderful person and a great Lieutenant. We learned a lot from his leadership and guideance. We was very knowledgeable and always took the time to share that knowledge. RIP Lieutenant.
