John Clutter Obituary

John Edward Clutter
1948 - 2017
WELLINGTON
- John Edward Clutter passed away on June 14, 2017, while visiting his stepchildren in Connecticut.
John was born on Jan. 14, 1948, to Homer and Jean Clutter Alcorn, in East St. Louis, Missouri. He spent most of his childhood between living in Illinois and Missouri. He left high school at 17 and joined the U.S Army at 19, and was deployed to Vietnam. He served two and half tours of duty before being wounded in action. He was very proud of his military service.
After leaving the service, he traveled around the country and Canada, finally putting down roots in Maine in 1986. John loved the county where he fished and hunted with his younger brother Preston.
In 1997, John met the lady he was later to make his wife. He and Debbie shared many things, including the passion for camping and four-wheeling. They were married on Feb. 22, 2006.
John is survived by his wife Debbie and his stepchildren Chris and Justin Mitchell, and their two girls, Casey and Bailey; Patty and Rob Webster and their two girls, Morgan and Sammy; all from Connecticut. He has one stepson, Jason Frantz, and his spouse Travis, of Pittsfield. He is also survived by his two brothers, Preston and his wife Midge, of Harmony; and David and his companion Soyna, of Illinois; plus two sisters, Sheila Farrell and Lisa Clutter, of Illinois.
He was predeceased by his parents, Homer Edward Clutter, and Inez Jean Alcorn and her husband Cleatus; his one brother, Ronnie, of Illinois; and his father and mother-in-law Charlie and Irene Foss, of Skowhegan.
Interment will be in July, at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Togus.
