FARMINGDALE - John Frederick Glendenning, 80, of Farmingdale, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at his home with loving family by his side and the wonderful nurses and home health aides of Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice.

John enjoyed bowling, playing the lottery and scratching his lottery tickets, old western movies and books, as well as raising the chickens and gardening.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Dorothy Glendenning; brother, William; sister, Helen; and son, Jon Jr., of his previous marriage to Alice Dubreuil.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 43 years, Phyllis Lowell Glendenning, of Turner; daughter Tina Thompson and husband Dan, of Lewiston; son Barry Glendenning, of Virginia; four grandchildren, Samantha, Tresa, Trisha and Johnny; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, George, of Pennsylvania; and Charles, of Lewiston; sisters, Liz and Sadie, both of Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful nurses and home health aides who came out daily, for their gentleness, care and compassion.

Greatly enjoyed bowling with John on the Friday senior bowling league. I enjoyed his sense of humor and miss him.
