Jack was an Army veteran of World War II, with service in the European African Middle Eastern theaters, Rhineland, Ardennes and central Europe. During the war, he transported blood to military hospitals and had been a chef. He was employed for 33 years by S.D. Warren and Scott Paper Mill in Westbrook.
He was predeceased by his son Bruce John Landry, four brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Parlin Landry, of Pittston; two children, Gladys Yankowsky, of Portland, and Anthony M. Landry, of Westbrook; four grandsons; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter, three great-grandsons; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. A funeral service with military honors will follow after the visiting hours at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook.

My Uncle Jack was the first man "during my teen years" that made me feel special. He always made me feel beautiful in a time when I needed to feel validated. Thank you Uncle Jack. You will always have a very special place in my heart. Weekend trips to Westbrook were the greatest.
