Joshua Lash Obituary

AUGUSTA -- Joshua Lash, 38, a resident of Augusta and formerly of Friendship, passed away Sept. 21, 2011 in Augusta, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Josh was born Feb. 13, 1973 in Rockland, the son of Nelson (Sonny) and Lorna Miller Lash, and attended Medomak Valley High School, eventually earning his General Educational Development certificate.

A longtime fisherman, Josh lobstered as a stern man for Jonathan Murphy out of Friendship Harbor for many years.

A longtime outdoorsman, he loved to go camping, most recently at Duck Puddle Camp Ground, fishing, boating, riding his bike, and any opportunity to hang with his friends.

A self-taught musician, he played the guitar and harmonica very well.

He is survived by his parents, Lorna and Sonny Lash of Friendship; his wife, Jessica Buchanan of Augusta; twin month-old daughters, Leah and Lexi Lash; stepson Travis Buchanan, all of Augusta; brothers Tony Lash, Ricky Lash, Mark Lash, and Timothy Lash, all of Waldoboro; and a sister, Mary Ellingwood of Santa Cruz, Calif.

Friends are invited to gather with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. A celebration of Josh's life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Harbor Cemetery, Friendship.

Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to The First, NA, P.O. Box B, Waldoboro, ME 04572, for an educational trust fund for his children.
