Lawrence E. "Sonny" Danforth

Service Notice
AUGUSTA - A Mass of Christian Burial for Lawrence E. "Sonny" Danforth, who died Saturday, June 3, 2017, was celebrated Monday morning at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Rev. Edward Clifford, officiating.
Altar servers were: Julie Brawn and Donald White, Sr. Organist was David Stewart and Soloists were: a daughter-in-law, Anne Danforth, Rosey Gerry, Donna Ryder and Lise Bécu.
The first reading was given by a granddaughter, Melissa Marable and the second reading was given by a niece, Norma Hanson. Reading the Response was Julie Brawn. Taking part in the Offertory Procession were: a daughter, Debra Danforth, a grandson, Ryan Danforth, a great grandson, Justice Marable and two nieces, Judy Wildes and Erin Bechard. Words of Remembrance were offered by a son, Richard Danforth.
There were representatives from the Church, Augusta Water District and the American Legion.
Pallbearers, all nephews, were: Paul Dupuis, Ray Turgeon, Don Lachance, Bob Webber, Richie Dodge, Marc Lacasse, Josh Tully and Dick Hanson.
Burial and committal prayer with military honors will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Road, on Monday, June 19.
Arrangements were under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.

Please know that the entire family is in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
We will remember Lawrence with a smile, and will miss him at TOPS.
He also inspired us in the midst of his suffering by saying that "it isn't over until it's over," and that he was going to LIVE with what time he had left.
How awesome is that? May we all be more like him in whatever time remains, in our own lives.
