Malhom Scott Obituary

MOUNT BETHEL, Pa. -- Malhom M. Scott, 78, of Mount Bethel died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at VNA Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township.

He was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Elizabeth, N.J., the son of the late Frank and Helen (Morey) Scott Jr.

His wife, the former Dorothy B. (Blaine), died in 2002.

He was the president and secretary of Morey La Rue Laundry Co. in Linden, N.J., since 1951.

He was a 1945 graduate of Pingry High School and a 1951 graduate of Lafayette College, where he was a member of the Theta Delta Chi fraternity.

He served in the Army Air Force.

He was of the Presbyterian faith.

He was the director of the Elizabeth General Medical Center; a trustee of the Gill St. Bernard's School in Gladstone, N.J.; a director and president of the YMCA of Eastern Union County; a director and president of the New Jersey Institute of Laundry and Dry Cleaning; a director of the Harmonic Savings Bank; and a member of the Board of Health in Kingwood Township, N.J.

He was a member of the Rotary Club of Elizabeth, N.J., for 39 years; a member of the Baltusral Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.; a member of the Tuscarora club in Millbrook; and a member of the Belgrade Lakes Association in Maine.

Survivors include one daughter, Robin E. Scott of Lewiston, Maine; three sons, Christopher B. Scott and his wife, Elizabeth, of Delaware Water Gap, N.J., Timothy M. Scott of Mount Bethel and Gregory M. Scott of East Stroudsburg; one sister, Patricia S. Scott Grogan of Jamesburg, N.J.; and two grandchildren, Allison M. Scott and Bryan M. Scott.

All services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Reed/Gaffney Funeral Home Inc., "Village of Johnsonville," Bangor, Pa.

Memorials may be made to your local YMCA in memory of Malhom.
