Nelson was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II with service in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He was employed at Peachey Bros., Maker and Sons and Al Dodge, and he went into business for himself doing carpentry and painting until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, wrestling, and deer hunting. He also enjoyed his animals and his two grandchildren, Cody and Abby.
He was predeceased by his father, Nelson Guyon Sr., of Florida.
Nelson is survived by his wife of 59 years, Estelle St. Hilaire Guyon, of Farmingdale; three sons, Robert Guyon, and longtime mate Sheila Crowell of Monmouth, Richard Guyon and mate Sandra Pelletier of Monmouth, and Mark Guyon and his wife, Melissa, of Farmingdale; two grandchildren, Cody and Abby Guyon, of Farmingdale; his stepmother, Pearl Guyon; and two stepsisters, Pearl Guyon and Diane Javorka, all of Florida.
Committal services with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 22 at the chapel in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many great memories with you and your dad. He was always so nice and kind to me whenever I was over to the house.

To All, I am so sad to hear of Nelson's passing. You are all in my heart and Prayers. As a former neighbor, a conversation with Nelson always brightened my day and lifted my spirits. His presence and his laugh will stay with me forever. I will miss this friend.
