Norman served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in the 566th Medical Company. During the Korean conflict, Norman served over a year in the foreign service.
Norman had a strong love of God, family and country. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a big fan of the classic westerns, whether watching a John Wayne movie or reading a Ralph Compton novel.
He retired from Bath Iron Works in 2000. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He played Santa Claus for Christmas events. Norman participated in his parish as a eucharistic and youth minister. One of his favorite roles was as a father and grandfather.
He is predeceased by his wife, Ernestine H. Garza, his infant son, Carl A. Myshrall, his mother, Alice, his brothers, Carl and Michael Tillotson, and his father, Cornelius Myshrall.
Norman is survived by his children, Katherine Gosline, Norman Myshrall Jr. and his wife, Lizbeth Myshrall, David Myshrall, Yvette Mimnaugh and her husband, William Mimnaugh, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Among his surviving siblings are Daniel Myshrall, Richard Tillotson, and Juanita McKenney. Norman also left behind his loved companion, Joyce Jean, and her children, Jacqueline and Wes Carver, Lisa and Paul Smith, and Craig Pushard.
Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. Burial will follow with military honors at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Gardiner.
