Raymond Moody Obituary

PITTSFIELD -- Raymond D. Moody, known as R.D., 51, of Dixon Road, Clinton passed away unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in Pittsfield.

He was born Oct. 2, 1959 in Waterville, the oldest son of Ronald and Sheila (Sampson) Moody.

He graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1978. R.D. excelled in sports as the quarterback for the Mustangs football program and as a power forward for their basketball team. He was known for his charismatic personality, putting a smile on everyone's face as he was always the life of the party. R.D. graduated from Central Maine Technical College in 1980 and worked most of his life in the computer field as Metso's district manager of the east coast. Raymond enjoyed working with wood, building houses and working with his portable saw mill. He loved animals, especially his two dogs, Hannah and Lola. He also loved the outdoors, wildlife and the feel of rushing wind while riding his Harley. R.D. enjoyed fishing, but his love for animals prevented him from hunting. Raymond was also very involved with the Waterville Elks Club. He spent the last two months of his life pursuing Christianity.

He was blessed with a step-daughter, Tiffany, residing in Chicago, and was extremely close and dedicated to his daughter, Roxie Moody, residing in Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife, Delores P. Moody; his broken-hearted and loving family, his parents, Ron and Sheila Moody of Monmouth; sister and brother-in-law Tami and Randy Chick of Leeds; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Angie Moody of Windsor; nieces and nephews, Amanda Chick, Kayla Denny and husband Josiah, Renee Moody, Kristy Moody, Ethan Chick; great-nephews, Marshall and Titus Denny and his favorite aunt, Brenda Sampson Martin and husband Robert of Richmond, California. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21at the North Monmouth Community Church, Main Street, North Monmouth. Service conducted by Pastor Ed Spencer and Pastor Patrick Denny.
