Robert Ernest Currier
1941 - 2015
EMBDEN - Robert E. Currier, 74, of North Port, Fla., died unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at his summer camp in Embden. Robert was born on Jan. 3, 1941, in Anson to Ernest and Violet (Conners) Currier. He graduated from Madison High School and joined the U.S. Army, later he graduated from Toleda, Ohio, Meat Cutting school. As a young boy he worked a local newspaper delivery route, sold garden seeds and Christmas trees and was a champion bean field picker. Robert worked most of his years as a professional meat cutter in Massachusetts, Connecticut and some in Florida and Maine.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and attending baseball games. He especially enjoyed the summer stays at his camp in Embden. Robert will be remembered as a bright, social man who easily made lots of friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister Joann Norton. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie (LeBlanc) Currier of North Port, Fla.; a daughter Wendy Quinn and her husband Larry of Oklahoma; his brothers, Ronald Currier and his wife Laurelee of Norridgewock, and Rodney Currier and his wife Robin of Beverly Hills, Fla., and a sister Judith Rodzen and her husband Robert of Madison.
Following Robert's wishes he will be cremated and his ashes spread on the Peace River in Port Charlotte, Fla. There will be a gathering of family and friends at Robert's camp, 33 Alder Drive, Embden, on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, from 1:30-4 p.m. Parking is at the Embden Pond boat landing. Cremation arrangements are by Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison.

Marie, We are so sorry for your loss. Both you and Bob have been great neighbors on the lake for all these years. We will miss Bob dropping by to chat while walking the dog. He taught me a lot about fishing and running my camp. I'll always remember our fun times golfing in the yearly tournament.
