Robert A. Hartsgrove
1924 - 2017
PLYMOUTH - Robert Albert Hartsgrove, 92, died peacefully Jan. 4, 2017, at a Hartland nursing facility with his wife by his side still holding his hand. He was born Feb.19, 1924, in Perham, a son of Fred and Nettie (Green) Hartsgrove.
He attended schools in Perham and Caribou. Bob entered the U. S. Army in 1949 and was stationed in Texas and Germany. He was employed at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna for 32 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Bob was still putting in his own firewood at age 90. He attended the Jubilee Family Worship Center in Newport.
Bob married the former Ina Cook of Palmyra and had three sons, Richard, Malcolm and James, all of Newport; two daughters, Rebecca Bean and Lorraine Albair, both of Corinna; 12 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and cousins.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9 at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Spring graveside funeral and committal services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Palmyra, with the Rev. Scott Black officiating. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com
