1946 - 2015
OAKLAND - Robert M. Sturtevant, 69, of Oakland died Thursday evening, Nov. 12, 2015 at the Alfond Center for Health, Augusta. He was born in Waterville on Oct. 16, 1946, a son of Robert E. and Nancy (Karter) Sturtevant.
Robert was a graduate of Waterville High School, Class of 1965, Higgins Classical Institute, and received his degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine. On Nov. 25, 1971, he married Dale Foster in Waterville.
Bob worked in textiles all his life. He worked in the finishing department for Wyandotte Industries for 16 years. Later he became the Manager of Research, Development and Product and Proto design for 21 years at the Hathaway Shirt Company, where he traveled throughout the United States and also overseas.
Bob was a member of the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine and Lebanon Youth Society. He was a Past member of the Messalonskee Fish and Game Club. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, especially his annual fishing trips to Chesuncook and Rangeley Lakes with his brothers and friends. Bob loved the Boston Bruins, the New England Patriots and attending Sportsmen and Boating Shows. He also loved family get togethers.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, Bob and Nancy Sturtevant; and his brother and best friend, Brian Sturtevant. Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dale of Oakland; his daughter, Heather Clark of Gorham; his brother, Patrick and wife, Sandra of Greenbush, his sister, Karla and John Lord, Jr. of South China, sister-in-law, Janice Sturtevant of Winslow; in-laws, William and Eleanor Foster of Winslow; brother-in-law, Kendall Foster of Dexter; and beloved Uncle John M. Joseph of Waterville; many nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Family and Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20 at Gallant Funeral Home, Inc., 10 Elm St., Waterville. The Liturgy of the Faithful Departed will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21 at St. Joseph's Maronite Catholic Church, Front St., Waterville. Committal prayers and burial will be in Lewis Cemetery in Oakland. An online guestbook may be signed and condolences may be expressed at www.gallantfh.com.

My condolences to the Sturtevant Family. Bob was was just a wonderful person. I was with Bob at both Waterville High, Higgins Classical and UMF. Bob, Campbell Coltln and I hung out for many years. I remember the great memories!
