Ruby Shaw Obituary
1937 - 2016
HARTLAND - Ruby E. Shaw, 79, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, in Bangor.
She was born on Oct. 7, 1937, in Vienna, Maine, the daughter of Lawrence and Rena (Burrill) Emerson. She attended schools in Pittsfield and married Clayton "Gump" Shaw. She was employed for several years as a certified nurse's assistant for both the Pittsfield Nursing Home and Care and Comfort.
Ruby had a bubbly personality. She had a kind heart and always opened her home to family and friends. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband. She loved butterflies and liked playing cards and spending time coloring. She will be lovingly missed.
She is survived by her brother, Milton Emerson and his companion, Joanne Sudsbury, of Hartland, brother, Harold Emerson of Hartland, sister, Alice Wynn of Falmouth; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Clayton Shaw, and two brothers, Dale and Frederick.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, with the Pastor Ricky Parker officiating.
