She was born Nov. 2, 1929, in Waterville, the daughter of the late George W. and Miriam J. (Smith) Brier.
She is survived by her brother, Brigadier General George R. Brier of Panama City Beach, Fla.; cousin Carol, and several nieces and nephews and cousins. She will be missed by those who knew her including special friends from the Elms who maintained contact with her.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at the Skowhegan Federated Church, Island Avenue, Skowhegan. Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery in North Anson.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan.

Ruth lived in the aprtment in our house for many years and was one of the nicest, caring and thoughtful people one could ever meet. She had many friends including the members of our neighborhood on Coburn Ave and our family, Sincerely,
