1964 - 2015
CHELSEA - Sandra Jean Tibbetts Morgan - 51 of Chelsea, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 17, 2015 in Augusta.
Sandy was born in Augusta on June 26, 1964 to William Tibbetts, Sr. and Connie Gray Tibbetts Hanson. She graduated from Cony High School in 1982.
Sandy was an organizer and a very special person who loved people and looked for ways to help others. Sandy was especially proud of her two sons, Bruce and Brandon. She was a talented artist and designed beautiful flower gardens. She loved animals of all kinds, but especially her dogs Duke and Rocky.
Sandy and her husband Bruce, with whom she spent 28 years until he passed away in May 2013, shared a passion for riding motorcycles. Unfortunately, after a tragic car accident in 2003 which left her in great pain, Sandy was forced to give up riding
One of Sandy's fondest memories was of the years she and her family lived on Hicks Road where she had Mini horses. She even brought two of the horses home in her car with her driving, Bruce in passenger seat, and baby Brandon in the back seat with the horses.
Sandy will be greatly missed by the many people who loved her.
She is survived by her father, William Tibbetts, Sr. and step-mother, Ardis, Augusta, her mother, Connie Gray Hanson, Augusta; her two precious sons, Bruce II of Augusta and Brandon, Chelsea; her brother, William Tibbetts, Jr., Augusta, half-sister, Wendy Westerlund of Pittston; several aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
A memorial service and burial will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, next to the airport, on Monday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. Take the first right paved road next to the airport. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church St., Augusta where condolences, memories and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the website at www.khrfuneralhomes.com

I am so sorry for your loss. My most heart felt sympathies to you all. Sandy & I have been close friends since the early-mid 80's; we'd been through a lot together and could always count on each other to be there through both good and bad times. She was the maid if honor in my wedding, I was there when she found out she was pregnant with each boy, she was SO happy! I was at CMMC after the 2003 crash, I remember the nurse coming in to take the staples out of one of the cuts on her head, when she started cutting Sandy's hair to keep it out of the way I remember thinking "ohhh, she's gonna be mad if you screw up her hair"...we all know her hair always had to look perfect :^)...I was there when she lost Bruce and now, unfortunately, I am here for this, for one last time; a time to say good bye for now my friend, I'll see again on the other side. I'm going to miss you. Love ya "Haggie"!!
