Good morning you guys. I met down in his wood lot. He was cutting and yarding biiig Hemlock with his horses. You could tell he was just lovin it, just that constant smile on his face , he just couldn't get enough of it. ( It must have been in his dreams also) . Needless to say I bought my 1st horse off Steve that day . SAM . My life was changed. Thank you Steve. That horse was GREEN so wasn't I. 1979.
This man is going to be greatly missed by family and allot of us.God has a good guy on his team now. Damn I miss him.

A Reminiscence
YES, thou art gone! and never more
Thy sunny smile shall gladden me;
But I may pass the old church door,
And pace the floor that covers thee.
May stand upon the cold, damp stone,
And think that, frozen, lies below
The lightest heart that I have known,
The kindest I shall ever know.
Yet, though I cannot see thee more,
'Tis still a comfort to have seen;
And though thy transient life is o'er,
'Tis sweet to think that thou hast been;
To think a soul so near divine,
Within a form so angel fair,
United to a heart like thine,
Has gladdened once our humble sphere.

On behalf of the Gleason family, our hearts go out to the entire Haskell Family. We enjoyed many horse pulling events together through the years. We are thinking of you and praying for peace.

My sincere condolences to entire family. Steve was a wonderful, kind hearted man with snore like no other. I have many fond memories from my childhood of Steve and Donna. From going to the fairs pulling horses, to playing in the huge lilac bush outside their farm house. I loved the smell and the atmosphere of the barn when it was time to milk the cows, but boy did I hate that bull in the pasture. They were and will always be my favorite babysitters. May you rest in peace.
