He was born March 25, 1942, in Winterport, the son of Theodore and Grace (Knowles) Clements.
He attended grammar school in the Winterport area and attended high school at Glen Cove Christian Academy, later going on to college at Alahain Bible Institute in New York.
Tom lived in the Mount Vernon and Monmouth area most of his life.
Tom worked for Central Maine Power Company as a civil engineer for 22 years. His most recent job was with the Monmouth School Department as a bus driver. Tom loved working with the children and thought a lot of his co-workers.
Tom was a devoted family man and always enjoyed a "family party." He was a practical joker. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Tom's family was blessed to have him.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and nature.
Tom was predeceased by his mother and father; sister Margaret Lockhart; brother Teddy Clements; and twin brother Tim Clements.
Tom is survived by his wife, Susan, of Monmouth; sons, Tom, Jr. and his wife, Tammy, and Todd and his wife, Mary Jo, all of Mount Vernon and Blaine Carver and his wife, Sarah, of Cundy's Harbor; daughters, Tami Pelletier and her husband, David, and Heidi Balfour and her husband, Bruce, all of Monmouth; brother, George Clements of Island Falls and sister, Florence Brown of Belfast. Tom is also survived by his grandchildren, who brought great joy to his life, Blake Clements and his wife, Shannon, Katy Clements, Nikki Clements, Evan Clements, Angela Clements, Kyle Pelletier and his wife, Heather, Richard Pelletier and his fiancée, Amy Hobson, Caitlin Carver, Payton Carver, and Mackenzi Burgess; special niece Nan Gagnon and her son Mike Lindholm; and close friend Doug Burgess.
A gathering of friends and relatives will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, where a memorial celebration of Tom's life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23.
Because of Tom's love for children the family requests that memorial donations in his memory be made to the Henry L. Cottrell School, c/o Playground Committee, 169 Academy Road, Monmouth, ME 04259.

Sue and Family - Russ and I have been very blessed to be considered a member of your extended family and we have grown to love you all very much over the past few years. Your family's love and devotion to Tom was truly an amazing thing. You all were there for him over the last 2 years at every turn: Sue with your wonderful companionship; David with his weekend drives and adventures; Tami with the haircuts and constant joking; Heidi with her wonderful care and Mackenzi's presence in his daily life. We have so many wonderful stories to tell that allow us to always keep Tom in our hearts, from broken toilets to his great jokes! Tom was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and he will be missed very much by all who loved him. We are thinking of you all and will always cherish the time we shared with your family and Tom! Love to you all! Russ, Darlene & Corey

Sue and Family. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. I will always remember Tom as Fred Boyce's right hand man and the beautiful rock wall he built. May he rest in peace.
