William "Bill" J. Shibley

WATERVILLE - William "Bill" J. Shibley, 73, passed away July 22, 2016, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, surrounded by his family. He was born March 3, 1943, in Waterville, the son of Fred J. and Thelma (Babcock) Shibley.
He was educated in the schools of Fairfield and Winslow and attended Goodwill Hinkley and Winslow High School, graduating in 1962. He was both self-employed operating Big Ten Pizza in Farmington and Dominion Fuel in Winslow as well as a welder for many years by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.) in Anchorage, Alaska. Bill enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and working with his hands (carpentry, masonry, steel fabrication, etc.) Bill loved and enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandsons. Bill also enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Unity Pond.
He is survived by two sons, James W. Shibley of Tomball, Texas, Christopher Shibley and partner Jessica Heath of Albion; sister, Sadie Kanaris and husband Richard of Augusta; niece, Tina Kanaris of Augusta, nephew, Tom Kanaris of Augusta; friend, Jackie Dostie of Anson; three grandsons, Matthew, Nicholas, and Garrett Shibley, all of Tomball, Texas.
There will be no visitation hours or funeral service.
