Barbara Mason Obituary

Barbara A. (Howard) Mason, 79 PORTLAND -- Barbara A. (Howard) Mason, 79, died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at Mercy Hospital. She was the wife of the late Linwood C. 'Red' Mason who died Dec. 15, 1975. Barbara was born in Portland on Oct. 18, 1929, the daughter of the late Roland W. and Annie Louise (McKenney) Howard. She attended local area schools including Deering High School. On Jan. 25, 1947, she married Red Mason and celebrated 28 years of marriage before he passed away. Barbara was an active member and former officer of the Eagles in Westbrook. She loved to socialize and participate in their many activities and programs. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at the Barron Center for all the love, care and support they have shown over the past seven years. Barbara is survived by her two daughters, Linda D. McPhee of Windham and Vickie L. Devlin and her husband Stuart of Wells, her son, Steven R.
