I have lived across the street from Betty for 28 yrs. She and Frank were the best neighbors anyone could ask for. You could tell they loved each other sincerely and deeply. She would come over and sit on my porch and talk or i would go over to her place and sit on the front stairs just listening to stories of her past. I never got sick of hearing her stories and learning all about Westbrook in the past. She and Frank loved my son Bill who snowblowed for them and started doing the lawn after Frank passed away. Bill was always there when she would call for help. Betty was a very proud lady and hated to ask anyone for help. I remember when Betty got her drivers license at 73. She passed her written test 1st time, took driving lessons a few weeks, but needed more road time to practice. I use to come home from work at 7am run over to Betty's and ride with her where ever she wanted to go. I never knew where we were but we always made it home. The hardest part for her was staying between the white lines. She said Frank always wanted her to drive so it was a goal for her. She got her license and would even drive up to see her sister Jo in Cornish. I will miss u Betty and our conversations about the past and u will always hold a special place in my heart and my sons Bill and Tim. R.I.P Betty I hope you and hubby are finally back together again. I know you missed him dearly. I am so glad you and Ruthie got to talk to each other last week.

Thelma, It's been years since we connected. I remember well those days we played together in the graveyard, up there on Central St. Betty was the older sister, and I didn't see her too much, but I was always aware of her. I pray that you have good memories to walk with you, as you mourn Betty's passing. There were good times in those days!! God bless you all. Frances Johnson Mains formerly of Westbrook.
