Cameron Haggett Obituary

Cameron Bain

Haggett, 16

WISCASSET - Cameron Bain Haggett, 16, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005 tragically in an automobile accident.

He was born in Bath on April 11, 1989, a son of Craig and Judith (Blair) Haggett.

Cameron attended Wiscasset schools all his life and had plans to follow in his grandfather Blair's footsteps by pursuing a career in the U.S. Navy submarine service. He was active in both Wiscasset recreation and school athletic programs throughout his school career. He participated in soccer, basketball, baseball, wrestling, and track, receiving numerous awards, but his true passion was soccer.

Cameron also enjoyed fishing, hiking, kayaking, and boating. In the summer of 1999 he and his father hiked all the 4000 ft peaks in Maine. He completed the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Skills and Seamanship Course in 2003 and was as at home on the water as on the land.

Cameron will be remembered by his family and friends for his loyalty, dedication, his quick wit and sense of humor.

Cameron is survived by his parents, Craig and Judy Haggett of Wiscasset, one brother, Joseph (J.T.) Haggett, one sister, Blair Haggett both of Wiscasset, maternal grandparents, LCDR Joseph and Janet Blair of Augusta; aunts and uncles, Glenn and Belinda Hagget of Wiscasset, Jody Haggett and his companion Jennifer of Edgecomb, Wayne and Joyce Flagg of Gardiner, cousins, Brandon Haggett of Bar Harbor, Cody Haggett of Wiscasset, Angelina Haggett of Edgecomb, and Nicole Flagg of Brookline Village, Mass.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Harry and Barbara Haggett.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, at the Wiscasset High School soccer field, with a reception to follow inside the school.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to:

What can you say Cameron was a great young man who loved Life. He had great family support and parents that were very involved in everything that he did. He loved to do many different things but I know he really loved soccer. He was really starting to come into his own last year and was really starting to understand the game at a higher level. I know that I will never watch a soccer match or even see a soccer ball without thinking of Cam. I hope that his family knows that I think of them every day and that I also have them in my prayers and that there are a lot of people in this area that will help them in any way we can. We all loved Cam and he will always be in our hearts.

Although I never got to know you personally Cameron, it's obvious to me you were a very special person, and an upstanding young man. Every time I overheard your father asking what you were up to in our office, I could tell by his calm assurance, it was always something good. May your star shine bright upon us - you will never be forgotten.

Cameron... I've known you since pre-school, so there was a lot of time for memories! Like study halls with Mrs. Goulet, or the countless trips to Mrs. Lipp's office, just so we could talk during study hall! I thank you so much for all of the times that you have helped me in my life. Whether it was as simple as teaching me how to play poker. Or all the times that you would help me on the bus, by being my Psyciatrist Cam. So many horrible days got better because of the 15 minute bus ride home I got to share with you! I can not believe that you have left us this early in life, such a great kid, with so much going for you! And, now who am i going to talk to while i watch SNL, and the Chappelle show!? What it all comes down to is, Cameron i love you, and i miss you, more than you will ever know...forever and always! May you rest in peace, and watch out for us... help us to do the right thing, and to help us smile, and laugh, just like you used to! All of my love to you, and your family!

Cameron was such a great person. He was such an awesome soccer player and was awesome at everything else that he tried. He was such a great student. I was able to share a class with him this past school year and that class was always fun. His articles and stories he told us humored everyone. He is greatly missed and always on our minds. Rest In Peace Cameron B. Haggett 7.13.05 <3

Cameron, I don't know where to start. Over the past few years we have gotten a lot closer. Within this short time you have truly become one of my best friends. This summer so far was so great. All of us hanging out almost everyday so far. I'm really going to miss it. My fishing buddy... we're even 1-1, even if your fish was bigger. I can still hear you saying "Whatever helps you sleep at night Megan." I hope you like the lure I got you. You're probably one of the funniest people I've ever met. I will really miss your sense of humor and always being there to cheer me up. I know I will see you again... but until then.. R.I.P. Love you and miss you so much already.

Hey Cam'ron... This is probably the hardest thing I've ever had to go through and I can't believe it happened. I still keep expecting you to sign online and be like "yo kel whats going on" even though I know it's never going to happen again. I miss you so much and I promise I will never forget you. I love you! Love, Kel

I miss you so much already I don't know what I'm going to do without you. I keep looking around and wondering where you are. I expect your mom to show up at Kel's haha.
