Candice Barter Obituary

Candice Jean
    Barter, 40
WISCASSET - Candice Jean Barter, 40, a resident of Ward Brook Rd., died suddenly on May 12, 2006 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.
Candy, as she was known to family and friends, was born April 25, 1966 in Boothbay Harbor, a daughter of Donna Mae Emerson Durgan, and was a graduate of Boothbay Region High School, Class of 1984.
She was employed for many years as the manager of the former Burger King restaurant in Boothbay Harbor.
Candy shared her love of animals, music, cooking and the outdoors with her children daily. With a little coaxing, Candy was always willing to try new things like family vacations to places like Washington, D.C., and Florida, and trips with Pat to see concerts and sporting events. Candy enjoyed spending time with her children and their friends in the neighborhood. Candy found great pleasure in attending school events and outings, all the while cheering the kids on and taking tons of photos. She found great joy in the gatherings of her extensive family. Candy was a warm, caring person and always made time to help those in need.
The children would greatly appreciate letters or notes written by family and friends sharing fond memories of their mother.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Barter in 1994.
Survivors include Patrick Connelly; and her four children, Kaitlin, Ashley, Madison and Mathew, all of Wiscasset; three brothers, Jeffrey Gray of Wiscasset, twin brother Randy Durgan of Southport, and Jody Durgan of Boothbay; two aunts; and a large extended family.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m., May 16, at the Simmons, Harrington and Hall Funeral Home, Boothbay. Funeral at 2 p.m., May 17, at the funeral home.
Arrangements by Simmons, Harrington and Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Boothbay.
