David Amato Obituary
David was born in Biddeford, Maine, on Dec. 26, 1969, the son of John F. and Domenica G. Amato. He grew up in Cape Elizabeth, graduating from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1988. After high school, he attended the University of Colorado, Boulder. David spent most of his career working in direct response marketing and was part owner of a call center in Eliot, Maine.
David will be remembered fondly by family and friends for his kindness of spirit, loving nature, big hugs, generosity, and sense of adventure. He enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean and sailing off the coast of Maine and the British Virgin Islands. Growing up, he spent summers visiting his mother's family in Italy and traveling throughout the country. He loved music and going to concerts, most notably following the Grateful Dead with friends. David enjoyed playing sports, golf in particular, and was a past member of the Purpoodock Club. He will also be remembered for his culinary talents and love of hosting dinner parties for friends and family.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Domenica. He is survived by his father, John, and his sister, Patricia.
David will be laid to rest at the family gravesite in Calvary Cemetery. A private time of remembrance will be held for the family at a future date.

Dave was without a doubt the most generous person I have ever known. He had a huge heart, a bigger smile and was truly one of those rare people everyone always wanted to be around. We enjoyed many great times together - golfing, watching the Pats & Sox, dinner parties - and I will always remember them. One of the best gone way too soon. RIP Dave.

I met David through his sister, Trish. I didnt know David well, but did see him several times through my visits to Maine and Naples FL. I remember David as a happy, loving, gregarious person. He was always personable and good to me. He was a fun person with a giant personality. My biggest memory of David was visiting Trish and him at their home and he would cook and make lobster. It was a happy time. I wish I had known him longer and during those happy times. I hope he is now at peace. Happy again. Everyone deserves peace. I wish more than anything that his lovely family is also at peace. My deepest condolences to Mr Amato and his dear, wonderful sister Trish.

I have fond memories of working for David. He was always so upbeat, positive, and kind. My heart hurts that he passed so young. He always had a big smile and was also extremely good to my dad and my brother Michael. My condolences to those that were close to him.

David and I had been childhood friends for years. We spent many sleepovers, golf matches at south Portland miniciple, whiffle ball games in his front yard, card collecting to a few great memories. I wished we didn't drift apart. I will miss him tremendously.

I am heartbroken. My children Tim and Kelly grew up with David. He was a blessing in our neighborhood with his infectious smile and sense of humor he kept us on our toes. He was loved by so many and will be deeply missed but never forgotten. My condolences to Patricia and Johnny. RIP David
