Wormwood, 75
KENNEBUNK - Donald Carlton Wormwood, 75, of Alfred Road, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Saco on Nov. 1, 1929, a son of Donald T. and Albina C. Hamel Wormwood.
Donald attended Saco schools and worked for more than 28 years at the Kennebunk Light and Power Company. Prior to that, he worked at several area businesses including, Seawood Construction, Shapiro Oil, Bates Mfg., and a local sheet metal firm.
Mr. Wormwood enjoyed doing outside work for people and did wood working and crafts. He also was a groundskeeper at St. Anne's Estate in Kennebunkport.
He liked outdoor sports, including softball and horse shoes, and also enjoyed playing the banjo, spoons and playing pool.
Donald served in the Maine National Guard.
He is predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Chagnon and Marjorie Plourde.
He is survived by his wife, Claire Paulhus Wormwood of Kennebunk; three daughters, Cheryl Brabble of Mount Holly, N.C., Celeste Lessard of Kennebunk, and Corinne Baker of Limerick; a brother, Colin Wormwood of Saco; a sister, Diane Williams of Saco; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 30, at the Kennebunk Baptist Church with Rev. James King officiating.
