Geoge Thibideau Obituary

George W. Thibideau III
BOYNTON BEACH
,
Fla. - O
n Oct. 26, 2015 George W. Thibideau III peacefully passed away, with our dear family friend Mark Wheatley of Lantana, Fla. at his side.
George was born on May 30, 1934 to Willa Sibley and George W. Thibideau . He was raised in South Windham and graduated from Windham H.S. in 1952. He served in the Navy and was stationed aboard ship in the Panama Canal. He served along with Sam the Sham (artist who sang Wooly Bully) and would enjoy telling stories of those times.
George worked for S.D Warren Company in Westbrook for over 30 years. His goal of retirement in Florida was achieved with his wife of 37 years, Beverly Champagne. He loved the sunshine state, playing horseshoes, crossword puzzles, and the TV show Family Guy and Barbara's scrumptious meals. George's enthusiasm for music was legendary. He had a talent for "naming that tune" and knowing how many minutes and seconds a song would play for. He could sure belt out an Elvis tune or two. George's laughter was great in quantity and quality, how he enjoyed a good joke. He always remained a loyal New England sports fan, known to cheer on the Red Sox and Patriots. He had a passion for Bingo and was one lucky son of a gun! Attribute that to his infinite optimism, an admirable quality among so many more.
George was predeceased by his beloved wife Beverly; and his stepson Kerry Champagne. He is survived by two brothers, Terry and Reynold Thibideau of Rockledge, Fla. and his sister, Mary Thibideau of Pheonix, Ariz. He will be sadly missed by his children and their families, George W. Thibideau IV and wife Barbara of Richland, Ga., Dianne Nay and husband John of Gray, Steven Thibideau of Hollis, and Michelle Fraser and husband Jim of North Brookfield, Mass.; stepchildren and their families, Rhonda Butterfield and husband Tom of Gorham, Kathy Jensen and husband Tim of Winslow, Susan Champagne of Berkeley, Calif. and Gregory Champagne of Naugatuck, Conn.; several grandchildren; and great-grand children.
Our family would like to express our gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to Mark Wheatley for his unselfish care of our father in his time of need.
"SONYA LATER!"
A service for George will be held Sunday the 15th at Arlington Cemetery in North Windham at 11:00 a.m.
