George Riley Obituary

George F. Riley, 71 SAUGUS, Mass., formerly of ASPEN, Colo. & YARMOUTH -- George F. Riley, 71, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass. Born in Winchester, Mass., raised in Saugus, Mass., he was the son of Mildred C. (Walsh) Riley of Saugus and the late George F. Riley Jr. He had resided in Aspen, Colo., for many years before moving to Yarmouth in 1982 until 1997. He then moved back to Saugus. Mr. Riley was a self employed photographer. An avid artist, traveler, and skier, George understood the meaning of a full life. The generosity and kindness he showed to his family and friends was a trademark of his personality. He will be missed dearly. Mr. Riley also leaves one son, Colin M. Riley and his wife Kristina of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., one daughter, Caitlin A. Riley of New York, N.Y.; one grandson, Connor F. Riley; former husband of Laurie Riley of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Maureen Riley and her husband Paul of Peabody, Mass.; and his special friend, Lois Monahan of Marshfield, Mass. A memorial visitation will be held in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus, Mass., on Friday, Aug. 29, 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A celebration of George's life will be held at his family home at 9 Maple Rd., Saugus, Mass., on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. For directions, www.bisbeeporcella.com.
