Hazel was one of my grandmother's oldest and dearest friends. I don't remember not knowing Hazel and not having her be part of my life. When I went to England as part of a college exchange trip she showed up at the door to offer a bag to use for the trip. When I got back she told me to keep it for the memories. I did keep it but the memory I kept was not of the trip but of Hazel's generosity. I will miss her.

Like the rest of our family, I knew this time would come eventually but hoped it would be many years from now. How blessed we were to have her in our lives for as long as we did. I have numerous memories of Grammy that always make me smile ...hearing that Grammy was more upset over her Beano equipment being in the trunk of her car than her car being stolen....going to Bean Suppers...sitting in Cole Farms and hearing her ask for "doo-doo" dressing for me...and so many more. Grammy - you are loved and will always be missed. - Lisa Fuse

Although we knew this time would come eventually I was hoping it would be several years from now. I am sorry I missed the funeral, but I am sure it will be well attended with lots of humerous memories shared among the attendees. Hazel will be remembered for a long time and will always be in my heart. I am proud to call her Grammy.

My Heart is heavy at this time with you all. As part of the cole farms family for many years, we all became close like family. When I started there as many of my classmates we were the young chicks and Hazel the mother hen. Watching over us and was always there for us, god is getting a very special angel. I have many memories, but and I will behave myself Connie, was the steamboat cruise we were all on, half of Gray I think. Mom and I and Hazel joined us in the lounge that followed the water, that's why we were there. I guess one little lady thought we might of been there too much, mom and I, but oh what fun. And the daughters Connie and Pat take right after their mom with the wit and sense of humor and etc., evident from the purple balloon lady on their door. And if I remember right those 3 ladies won the prize. Many days I would of liked to walk down back to visit Hazel. I thought of her alot, but my door wouldn't open to let me walk there by myself. But I will see her again someday and cook up some fried green tomatos. May god be with you in your time of wonderful memories of Hazel.
