Joseph Campisi Obituary

Joseph Salvatore Campisi, 77 OCEAN PARK -- Joseph Salvatore Campisi, 77, of Seaside Avenue, Ocean Park passed away at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House on Aug. 26, 2009. Joseph was born April 6, 1932, in Rockville Centre, N.Y., the son of Salvatore C. and Susan Titolo Campisi. Mr. Campisi attended and graduated from local schools. He graduated from Cornell University in 1954 and later with a MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1979. He served in the U.S. Army as an Officer. His first employment was with U.S. Steel, later working for Honeywell and concluded with Aetna Life and Casualty for over 22 years. Joe moved to Maine with his wife Charlene, from Connecticut, in 1993. While in Maine he was a member of Most Holy Trinity, Good Shepherd Parish and the Ocean Park Association. Mr. Campisi lent his time and leadership in civic organizations and several federal and state government projects. He was extremely proud of all his children and grandchildren and their many achievements and enjoyed taking part in their many activities and family events. Survivors include his wife Charlene of 52 years of Ocean Park; three sons, Joseph Campisi Jr. and his wife Amy of North Grafton, Mass., James Campisi and his wife Joyce of Peachtree City, Ga., and Michael Campisi and his wife Julie of Saco, a daughter Karen Dillen of San Diego, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren. Visiting hours are to be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday 10:30 a.m. Sept. 2 at Most Holy Trinity in Saco. Private family committal at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
