Linda DiMillo Obituary

Linda Stevens DiMillo, 57
SOUTH PORTLAND - Linda Stevens DiMillo, 57, of South Portland, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2015, from complications brought on by her 15 year battle with multiple sclerosis. Linda was a devoted mother of two children and a loving wife to Albert, her husband of 33 years. She was born in Caribou, the daughter of Newcomb and Myrtle Stevens. She was a 1977 graduate of Caribou High School and a 1978 graduate of NMVTI in Presque Isle, receiving her LPN license.
She worked in nursing in Caribou and Portland for four years until she became a full time mother and homemaker.
Linda was very active in her children's lives, volunteering at their schools for many years. She was an assistant coach on her son's soccer team and never missed one of her daughters many choir and theatre productions from grade school through college. As a former life guard she taught both of her children to swim as well as many of their friends that spent hours at the family pool. She loved spending a few weeks each summer at the family cottage on Portage Lake in the "county." She was very active before her illness, playing tennis, walking with friends and became a good bowler. When her husband's career required three moves in just 12 years, she managed the moves and made the new houses great homes and made good friends wherever the family went.
She is survived by her husband Albert A. DiMillo, Jr., of South Portland; and her two children Angela DiMillo of Waterville and Anthony DiMillo of Mountain View, Calif.; her parents Newcomb and Myrtle Stevens of Zephyrhills, Fla.; four brothers Michael Stevens of Davenport, Fla., Todd Stevens of Greene, Alan Stevens of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Newcomb Stevens of Wynantskill, N.Y.; as well as several aunts, uncles; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015, from 3-6 p.m., at the Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 13, 2015, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Rd., Scarborough. A "Celebration of Linda's Life" will follow in the church hall. To view Linda's memorial page, or to share an online condolence, please visit
