Lise Montembeau Obituary

Lise C. Montembeau
BIDDEFORD -- Lise C. Montembeau passed away on Feb. 15, 2007, following a brief illness. Her passing was within days of the anniversary of the death of the two great men in her life, her father, Irenee Choquette, and her husband Ernest Chief Montembeau, to whom she was married for 42 years.
Lise's life epitomized what a Mom should be; goodness. She was unselfish to the core, always asking how she could help others. She even recently mailed Valentine's Day cards to her family from her hospital bed.
Lise was born in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada in 1936, a daughter of Irenee and Jeanne Fournier Choquette. She was educated in Canada and the United States. She moved to Biddeford in 1960, upon marrying Chief. Lise worked as a CNA at Dr. Quigley's office in Biddeford. She took great pride in the fact that many of Dr. Quigley's patients would schedule their appointments on the days she worked.
Lise most enjoyed life's simple pleasures whether it was reading books on the beach, traveling with her friend Connie, sharing a glass of wine with her daughter-in-laws, watching her grandkids opening their Christmas gifts, or entertaining her relatives from Quebec.
Surviving are her mother of St. Hyacinthe Quebec Canada; six brothers, Marc, Pierre, Claude, Jean, Andre, Guy; her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Melanie Montembeau of Kennebunk, Stephen and Pamela Montembeau of Kittery Point, James and Wendy Montembeau of Atlanta. Ga., and Daniel Montembeau of Biddeford; five grandchildren, Christian, Sarah, Abigail, Callister, and Sawyer and one grandchild on the way.
Memorial visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, at St. Andre's Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to:

We were in total disbelief when our daughter Brenda called to tell us of Lise's passing. Just this past June while visiting Biddeford we ran into Lise whom we had not seen in quite some time. She told of how proud she was of the success of her children and how much she enjoyed her grandchildren with the sparkle in her eye that she always had. She will surely be missed by all who knew her. Grief is the price one must pay for the loss of a loved one and we pray your grief will be shortened and less painful as your memories of Lise will help ease the pain. Our prayers are with you during this most difficult time.
