Patrick Stephen "Rally Boy" Conley

Patrick Conley Obituary

Patrick Stephen Conley 'Rally Boy' FALMOUTH -- With a precious smile, Patrick passed away peacefully and courageously on Nov. 12, 2008, surrounded by his family at home. Born Sept. 18, 1992, Patrick was a magnetic young man who inspired all who were blessed to know him, and his spirit brought out the best in everyone he encountered. He could brighten a room with his bald head and contagious smile or his sweet, silent, gentle presence. He was a rare glimmer of hope and a gift to us all. Patrick was a sophomore at Falmouth High School where he was embraced by his classmates and teachers. He was one of Slugger's Kids for The Strike Out Cancer in kids program. He loved 'take me out to the ball game' and sang as often as possible. Additionally, he enjoyed horseback riding, swimming, music, and his cat Tek snuggling close to his side. Patrick's happiest moments were spent with his family and his special, compassionate brothers Ryan and Griffin. He was their lucky charm to win championship games, score goals, and silently cheer them on. Our deepest thank you to all the doctors, nurses, teachers, and care providers who always made Patrick's feel so incredibly special. This beautiful blue eyed boy taught us so much about the strength of children, faith, beating the odds, the rewards of never giving up, and most of all the power of love. Patrick is survived by his parents, Steve and Jane (Kilbride) Conley of Falmouth; and his brothers Ryan and Griffin. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Sonny Conley and Charlie Kilbride. Also surviving are his grandmothers Reola Conley and Patricia Kilbride; along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. Visiting hours will be Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at 10 a.m., at Holy Martry's Catholic Church, Route 88 Falmouth. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland. You are invited to share your thoughts, condolences, and found memories with the Conley family by visiting Patrick's guest book at www.mem.com. Jane and Steve, I am so sorry to hear about Patrick's passing. Judy just told me today. I drove by your house last week and wondered if something like that was going on when I saw several cars in the driveway during the daytime.
You know that Patrick was a special boy to me and I'll always remember that brave little bright-eyed toddler that I first met. You both gave him a wonderful life. I loved that beautifyul write-up about what he brought to others' lives. God Bless you, your family and Patrick. You are in my prayers...Diane Gray

Steve, Jane, boys and entire Conley family...What a beautiful write up in the newspaper! I wish I had been able to spend more time with Patrick thru the years getting to know him however, whenever I did meet up with any of the family, everyone spoke so lovingly of your special boy. He was blessed to have had such giving/caring parents that allowed him every opportunity to develop into the best he could be. Many were waiting for him with open arms when he finally gave up his fight to live in this world. I wish you all peace now for the future.
All our love...Missy and Bob

Pat, Jane, Steve & Family,
I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am to read about your loss. Patrick was a great kid and I consider myself very fortunate to have had the chance to meet him. I worked as an usher for the Sea Dogs with his grandfather, Charlie, who often talked about Patrick and his wonderful personality. He loved him so much along with everybody else who met Patrick. May he now be living happily up in heaven with both God and Charlie.

Dear Jane & Steve;

Jim shared the news w/ us Thursday when we were out to dinner. In a weird way what a blessing!!! I say a "Blessing" to Patricks next journey, because he is free of pain, & is among people who love him in Heaven & here on Earth.

You have had such a long journey with many ups & downs, twists, & turns. I have never met Ryan or Griffin, but seeing the stock they come from, they could only be 2 fine lads. :o)

I thank God, even if it was just a moment, that I was able to be with the 3 of you durning one of many Patricks trips to the OR @ MMC.

I am unable to be with you Monday, as I have a prior commitment, but please know my husband & I will be there tomorrow.

Please take time to heal...

God's speed~~~ Lu & Randy

Words cannot express how sorry i am that we have lost our precious Patrick.It was a blessing to have been able to work with Patrick for a couple years when he was younger.I will for ever treasure our many sleep overs at my home. Our times in the hot tub in the middle of a snow storm. How Patrick would laugh out loud when the snow would hit his face and how he would stretch out and kick his legs once he got in there.I have often thought how blessed Patrick was that god gave him you two as parents.I have never ever met another family that loved and adored there son's like you and steve did and always treated them equal.And Ryan you were always a very caring and loving younger brother.I remember there were times i would get to your home early in the morning to get Patrick up and you would be asleep on the floor in his room.You would tell me you worried about him.I remember you told me about a dream you had that patrick walked into you room so you decided to sleep close to him that night. Well Ryan your dream came true.Partick is now walking.And may be a better hockey player then you now.Griffin I remember was just a toddler.And each mornig before your daddy would take you to daycare you would climb up onto Patricks wheel chair and kiss him good bye and say i love you papik conney. It was so sweet to hear you try to say his name.Thank you God for giving this family to Patrick for the short time in his life.You could not have picked a better Mom, Dad or brother;s for Patrick.Thank you for memory's we will treasure forever.we love you all. xo Amelia and Mike
