Paul Huggard Obituary
SACO -- Paul F. Huggard, 66, of Saco, passed away after a long brave battle on Sept. 7, 2014, at Maine Medical Care Center in Portland.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1948, in Houlton, to Robert and Edna (Gibbard) Huggard.
He is survived by his mother, Edna Ellis of Scarborough; two daughters, Kelli McLeer of Saco, and Staci (Brian) Lozo of Biddeford; three grandchildren, Daniel and Michael McLeer and Madison Lozo; one sister, Lee (Richard) Roberts of Scarborough, two brothers, Peter Huggard of Portland and Robert (Diane) Huggard Jr. of Shepleigh; and many nieces and nephews who he adored. Paul rejoins his father Robert L. Huggard Sr.; and his sister, Rosemary Huggard in heaven.
Paul grew up and spent most of his life in Portland. He married and adored Jean Ann Foote on Sept. 7, 1968, and they were together for over 50 years meeting in junior high school. He graduated from Portland High School and pursued a career in sales using his charisma and charm to succeed and built long lasting relationships with his clients.
His wife, children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. The legacy of Paul's kind spirit, passion for sports, and zest for life will live on through them.
He also had a passion for expressing his opinions on almost any subject, you name it he knew it and loved sports at all levels. A huge New England sports fan who could deliver any fact about any team on the spot. A former little league coach, he now enjoyed watching his grandchildren and their friends play ball and other activities while giving some 'tips' to their coaches. There wasn't a game he'd miss even if that meant watching from the car or struggling through pain, he'd be there.
Paul will be missed by so many but never forgotten.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Maine Medical Center's SCU and the nurses at Casco Bay Dialysis Center for their wonderful care and support.

Many wonderful memories! In Paul's loving teasing manner he would say, (from Edna) "Just the minimum"! but always with Paul, "more" love, words and opinions! Gone but not forgotten!

My deepest condolences to the family. There are so many wonderful memories with Paul & Jean (and the girls) through sports as well as parties at their home. I can still remember the endless sports conversations between Paul, Larry and Mike Poore. They got heated at times but always respectful. I will carry those wonderful memories forever. RIP Paul, you were a good friend.

Paul was a wonderful coach. He had a unique gift for bringing out the best in people. He figures prominently in any happy memories of my childhood sports experiences. I was blessed to know him. Wishing you comfort.
