Richard Baldwin Obituary
M. Baldwin, 61
PORTLAND -- Richard (Dick) M. Baldwin, 61, of North Deering, passed away on Aug. 15, 2010, in Portland following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Winchester, Mass., the son of George F. and Clara E. (Lindsay) Baldwin. During the Vietnam War, Dick was in the U.S. Air Force for four years and was stationed in Thailand. Following his enlistment, he served in the Maine Air National Guard for 24 years. He enjoyed traveling throughout the world during his years with the Guard.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Laura A. (Clement) Baldwin; his children, Shawn M. Baldwin and Lindsay E. Baldwin; and siblings, Maureen Leone, Joan Johnson and John Baldwin.
Visiting hours will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at Independent Death Care, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland, followed by a funeral service at 3:30 p.m. A committal service with military honors will be held at a later date at the Maine Veterans' Cemetery in Augusta.

I was looking for an old Air Force buddy from over 50 years ago and came across this obituary. I knew and served with Richard from 1969 - 1972 at both Eglin AFB in Florida (we were roommates) and Utapao in Thailand. Richard was a great man and friend.
