Richard Perry Obituary
WESTBROOK - Richard "Ricky" Wayne Perry, 74, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at Mercy Hospital in Portland.
He was born on Sept. 6, 1943, in Portland, the son of Franklin Sr. and Jeanette (Gladu) Perry.
Richard was raised in the Portland area and attended Portland Schools. He was a very dedicated and hard worker, spending his career as a truck driver for the Portland News Company delivering newspapers and magazines, which enabled him to meet many people and make many lifelong friends. Besides working Richard always enjoyed being with his kids and other family members; this always provided him with joy and happiness. He was the type of guy that would do anything for his family and friends, always making sure if they needed a hand he was there.
On Oct. 8, 1984, he married Cheryl Carson and they enjoyed 33 years together.
He also shared a passion for auto racing with his son, Stephen, and his granddaughter, Alicia, who was a race car driver. He always made sure to keep up with his son's TV show, Mainley MotorSports.
Richard also was a very proud grandfather to his eight grandchildren and also a proud great-grandfather to one great-grandchild.
He is predeceased by his sister, Sandra Jean Perry; and stepdaughter, Tracy Delrymple. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cheryl A. Perry of Westbrook; son Stephen Perry of Sanford, two daughters Deborah Bridges and her husband Danny of Buxton, Heather Bennett and her husband Gregory of Portland; two sisters Joan Blodgett of South Portland, Paula Charles and her husband Donnie of North Fort Myers, Fla., one brother Franklin D. Perry Jr.; eight grandchildren, Alicia, Andrea, Justin, Kevlin, Glacie, Bentley, Annabelle and Greta; and one great-grandchild, Charlotte.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at
A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home
, 660 Brighton Ave. in Portland. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Calvary Cemetery in the Old Calvary section at 11:00 a.m. in South Portland.

Cheryl and family, I didn't find out till today of our loss. I'm so sorry I couldn't see you in person. The times we shared working together helped build the foundation for my life and I have many fond memories of you both. I bet Nate and Spyder both greeted him with a "Hiya Buck"

I never saw Ricky without a grin on his face!!He always had a story or joke to tell.Keith and I already miss him,but we know he is where he is suppose to be now.Go rest high on that mountain, you earned your rest.Prayers to Cheryl and his whole big family.
