Richard Towle Obituary
BATH -- Richard H. Towle, 94, of Bedford Street, passed away peacefully at CMMC on April 7, 2010. He was born on Feb. 27, 1916, the son of Walter and Lillian Robinson Towle. Richard grew up in Palmyra and graduated from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield. After high school he worked for Cushman's Bakery for several years.
On Sept. 21, 1937, he married Marian Rudman in Palmyra, and they moved to Bath to raise their family. Richard went to work for Oakhurst Dairy, in Bath, as a delivery driver retiring in 1981. He was also a member of the Mason, Polar Lodge #114.
Richard was an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking, ceramics and square dancing with his wife.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marian; a brother, Clarence Towle, and a sister, Eleanor Hollister. Surviving him are three children, Richard Towle Jr. of Auburn, Robert Towle and his wife Anne of Paxton, Mass., and Kathie Towle of Rehoboth, Mass.; a brother, Frederick Towle of Connecticut; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010, from 10-11 a.m., at the David E. Desmond Funeral Home, 638 High St., Bath. A Masonic service will take place at 11 a.m. with a funeral service following at the funeral home. You may share your thoughts and condolences with Richards family at www.desmondfuneralhomes.com.

I feel that I have known him for a long time. I remember our golfing with him and what a classy guy he was. We have all been there so I think I know what you are feeling. Sorry I could not be there with you and your family, but I'm sure you understand the season. Our prayers are with you
